Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing/Boston
Allston, MA
“The Horace Mann School (HMS)/I learn America (ILA) Fellows (trained Deaf/HOH immigrant origin and refugee student leaders) will facilitate culturally-affirming SEL storytelling workshops in collaboration with HMS teachers, and BIPOC ASL teaching artists. We’ll foster a creative and comfortable environment for students to share, connect through and amplify stories, while expanding arts-integrated (poetry, photos, videos etc.) programming that produces added value for our teachers and students. Rebuilding the sense of belonging shuttered by COVID-19, we'll provide opportunities to: process emotions; forge multifaceted identities, and take action in their schools and communities.”
