SEL Awardee

Julie Prouty

Ithaca School District
Richland Center, WI
“Ithaca Public Schools, a small rural community in southwestern Wisconsin, plans to increase student-school connectedness by implementing social and emotional Learning. Since data shows that the more students feel connected to school and have a trusted adult to talk to, the better they do in school, our target is to have the staff learn how trauma affects students, and be able to learn trauma-sensitive practices. This will increase students’ feeling of belonging and empower staff to implement SEL into their daily routines and curriculum.”
