“The Brave and Belonging Student Leadership Summit serves as an opportunity to bring together our 5th-12th grade student ambassadors from each KIPP Texas middle and high school to a central location to develop and practice their SEL leadership skills. The summit will include a keynote speaker; a lunch-and-learn with peers; and opportunities to listen, understand, and analyze results from our KIPPsters' mental health and SEL needs assessments surveys in an equitable environment. In analyzing the results and discussing with their peers, participants will develop, design, and plan the implementation for solutions to the most prominent issues identified from the needs assessments at their individual campuses. Your generous investment will cover the costs of the summit venue, student transportation, speaker stipends, and the lunch for our noon session. Funds remaining after the summit will be divided equally among each region to enact the student-identified solutions. If awarded the SEL in Action Award, we will petition KIPP Public Schools to provide additional funding for school implementation.”
