“Our program includes incorporating SEL into the curriculum and deepening mindfulness practices in community to grow resilience, empathy, and healing. We find that our mindfulness offerings promote students' capabilities to communicate, problem solve, and build capacity for compassion. We will be offering our in-school mindfulness lessons from What Is: Mindfulness for all second and third graders, in collaboration with guidance lessons from Powel's counselor for the entire student body, as well as professional development and support for all staff, and workshops for families.”
