“The project will exclusively work with newcomer students in elementary school (grades 1-5) and middle school (grades 6-8). Browne Education Campus is one school that has a growing number of ELL's in grades 1-8 and Jefferson MS Academy has a small growing ELL population. Since both schools do not have many bilingual staff members or bilingual mental heath professionals the goal is to provide the project WE CAN, WE WILL. The goals for these two schools is to provide social emotional support, skills, and academic support for the students. This project is a new project that will be for the growing newcomer population and form a community within each of the schools.”
