“DCPS is excited to offer programming opportunities to increase the sense of belonging for our LGBTQIA+ student community and establish an inclusive community empowering students to demonstrate an ability to take the perspective of and empathize with others, including those of differing backgrounds. DCPS will use the funding to establish a student leadership cohort to train to become facilitators to educate adults and students how to build relational trust with our LGBTQIA+ community and guide students to host a convening to create a safe space to discuss social action and to develop appreciation of the cultural, linguistic and personal assets of our LGBTQIA+ community.”
