Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
Our initiative is to break down the walls of stigma by starting STEMinistas in Action to help students learn about science, which is often the world of the unseen, involves reactions, scenarios and hypotheses and has a direct correlation to SEL. We want to build self-efficacy, confidence, persistence, empathy, connection and commitment to school, and a sense of purpose. Students will use their science research to create silk screen prints, a short story and a toy. They demonstrate empathy through a service project to help families dealing with cancer and build personal service portfolios.
