The SEL Blog
Our project will peel back the label of an ED Self-Contained Program through open opportunities and community experiences. Studies show that students with emotional disabilities are less likely to be engaged in school and more likely to struggle with interpersonal relationships. Providing students with transitional, vocational and volunteering experiences in the community provides learning in an alternative setting and builds life skills. Our project will help replace the negative label of an ED Self-Contained student and empower our students to understand their personal strengths and provide them with hope for the future.
