Students will receive small group counseling and support through the use of drumming circles. The project will be a year-long partnership to create a cohort of teachers who can train others to create an implement the drumming circles. The project includes initial on-boarding and training for teachers, as well as monthly instruction and coaching by an advanced drumming circle. Students will be placed in small groups with one of two instructors and participate in weekly small groups focused on therapeutic drumming. The students will also be encouraged to participate in an after-school performance group.
