“This project will focus on implementing the YWLA house system (similar to UK Schools) to bring students and staff from different grades together to build connections throughout the year. Houses will meet during our First Friday SEL days for teaming building, developing soft skills, and SEL activities. SEL strategies include but are not limited to, regular mindfulness, breath work, yoga, positive peer communication, and building strong connections on campus. Our belief is that through reconnecting we will see a positive impact on student and teacher emotional wellbeing, an increase in student attendance, achievement, and retention.”
