“Our mission is to re-establish roots in nature as healing, learning places of respite, and joy for our Black and Brown youth. Colonialism has blinded us and removed us from embodied learning. It has deprived us of sensory integration which is the foundation for emotional regulation. Together, using the restorative framework of "with," we will use our school's values of self-discipline, compassion, inquiry, tenacity, and integrity as guides. Students will engage in outdoor experiences that promote joy, curiosity, happiness, connection, creativity, empathy, forgiveness, and a quiet mind. Students and staff will build their capacity for listening to each other unconditionally.”
