“The goal of this project is to teach 5th grade students about forgiveness education. In addition to learning about what forgiveness is and is not, topics include the healthy expression of anger, perspective-taking, the inherent worth of all, kindness and empathy. The goal of the curriculum is for students to learn about forgiveness as one way to deal with anger and other negative feelings after experiencing a conflict with or a deep and unfair hurt from another person. The unique aspect of this forgiveness education curriculum is the use of children’s literature to illustrate forgiveness and concepts associated with forgiveness.”
