Moreno Valley Unified School District
Moreno Valley, CA
“Approximately a year ago, the Moreno Valley Unified School District discovered the need to respond and address students’ social and emotional needs brought on by the pandemic. The district developed Document Today — an initiative to utilize visual and performing arts to facilitate healthy student expression. This grant funding will be used to expand upon the district’s Document Today initiative by constructing makerspaces in three elementary schools which feed into one middle school. The identified schools have high concentrations of students identifying as foster youth, young women of color and students facing housing inequities or homelessness.”
