“This project provides an opportunity for middle school students to participate in meaningful lessons/activities that build upon SEL skills, allows them to feel a sense of empowerment, encourages them to embrace challenges, become more socially/emotionally aware, and to resolve conflicts with others. The most exciting part of the project is seeing students learning to not only trust themselves, but each other. The grant allows us to expand the program, offering it to a greater number of students, preparing them for the challenges of life. It also provides more opportunity for parental involvement including having a "graduation" for those who participate.”
