SEL Awardee

Envision Education, Inc.

“For Envision, SEL means prioritizing strategies that: create safety for students; promote collaborative, trusting relationships; develop students’ social emotional skills, and offer personalized support that cultivates empowerment. Together, these features constitute the very foundation of learning: students have a harder time learning if these conditions are absent. And in our schools, with 95% students of color, SEL programming void of critical race literacy will not meet the needs of our community. Therefore we seek to integrate a new, collaboratively designed SEL curriculum into the new Ethnic Studies framework that will be guiding all of our courses, both academic and Advisory.”
