“Our healing-centered mission at C.B. Community Schools (CB) creates a community based in the understanding that trauma DOES impact learning. With the SEL in Action Award, CB will continue and expand our summer enrichment program for high school students in the child welfare system. Our summer program focuses on caring for mental health and coping with community violence through art, music and multimedia projects. CB will create a peer leadership component with students participating in the 2021 summer program to train them as peer leaders who will support with planning and facilitating the 2022 summer program!”
