Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
Amy Biehl High School is building on and expanding a social and emotional learning curriculum established last year by formally identifying a Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator to oversee curriculum implementation, evaluate data from the Holistic Student Assessments, coach teachers on social and emotional activities in class and work with the social and emotional learning team to develop best practices and share them with our partner schools. With grant funding we will also be able to administer another round of Holistic Student Assessments which identify student challenges and strengths and measure social and emotional development over time. This data allows us to determine what social and emotional activities are most effective, what challenges need to be addressed and what strengths we can build on within our school community.
