“The grant will provide: 1) training to develop coaches through certification with the Institute for Social and Emotional Intelligence; 2) software to assess SEL competencies for 45 teachers/leaders; 3) professional development in SEL assessment growth areas; and 4) materials to establish a thoughtful mind/body lab for teachers (4C's sensory calm, cool, collected center). In year one, the counselor and one additional campus leader will receive coaching training to become certified in SEL practices by the Institute for Social and Emotional Learning. After their training, they will lead other campus teachers/leaders to determine SEL competencies and identify growth areas. Professional development options will be offered according to those growth areas.”
