Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE) face challenges compared to other ELLs due to language acquisition challenges, limited first language literacy and gaps in academic knowledge and skills. Through the SEL in Action Award, ENLACE will facilitate a Drop-In Center to meet the needs of SLIFE by increasing academic, social and emotional supports and piloting new approaches to learning that are experiential and culturally responsive. The Center will provide homework and technology assistance, practice for language assessments, support groups, mentoring, help with job applications and referrals to community services.
