Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
At Future Public School we refer to our students as Engineers: the designers and problem solvers of the future. The challenges of the future require more than “book smarts” to solve them, and SEL competencies will be relied upon more than ever. Our project focuses on SEL and Math in order to:
1. Increase math achievement through more relevant instruction and the integration of SEL skills.
2. Increase students’ self-concept as math learners by highlighting and celebrating diverse mathematicians’ contributions to the field.
3. Increase the math instruction and integration skills of instructional staff through high-quality professional development opportunities.
