Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
The Remix will bring together an intersectional group of 8th graders to "remix" our community's conversations surrounding diversity/equity/inclusion + racism/discrimination/oppression. It'll be part psychoeducation, part counseling, part experiential learning. Our goals: (1) foster meaningful conversations among staff/students about the toughest issues in our area (2) give students social-emotional tools and leadership skills to help them have and lead these conversations in their personal lives, schools, and community (3) create a safe, intersectional space where students feel free to say difficult things, and from which (4) a culture that recognizes, honors, and celebrates differences can organically grow.
