Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
Our project aims to reduce stress, anxiety and healing from trauma post-pandemic and promote real-world mathematics learning for English learners and refugees by supporting a growth mindset. This will be done through field trips and engaging math activities and games. Our pilot self-care group for young women of color will support our students in learning various SEL strategies such as impulse control and anger management. This will be done through yoga, art therapy, journaling, discussions and guest speakers. We will support students in discovering and celebrating their gifts, and encourage them along their journeys.
