The SEL Blog
The International High Schools of Langley Park (IHSLP) and Largo (IHSLA) will work with I Learn America (ILA) to implement an immigrant youth-led storytelling project called "I Learn Maryland" that fosters SEL, empathy, and leadership development for migrant youth. Students will work with culturally responsive artist-educators to channel personal narratives into community-based, artistic activations through photo-making, video-making, podcasts, poetry, and graphic-art. Students will produce works that spread messages beyond the program, shaping their community's understanding of its interdependence, the necessity of reciprocity, and the commitment to supporting the welfare of each person within the larger community.
