Practice Makes Perfect
The SEL Blog
Through our research, many Social and Emotional Learning curriculum are not geared toward our student population. We would like to take the energy and time to craft a comprehensive, cohesive curriculum that embeds elements of mindfulness, SEL practices and conflict resolution and exposure to cultural perspectives. By the end of this project, we hope to write 20 short lesson plans that has each of these three elements embedded, keeping in mind trauma-informed instruction and practices and our unique population of students. The project will include purchasing quality texts and engaging materials, school wide initiatives and programs and training for staff.
