Assurance Learning Academy will be focusing on implementing and expanding three components of Social Emotional Learning at two locations, Sun Valley and Canoga Park in Los Angeles County. These programs include the Positive Behavioral and Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework with an intention to embed restorative practices and trauma-informed organizational approach with two partnering organizations, Power On and Paws to Share. These efforts will align with and support the school counseling model and together will promote a multi-tiered focus on data driven decision making to address the needs of all stakeholders in relation to the success of our students. Paws to Share will guide self-regulation techniques; Power On will provide youth and teacher support through mindfulness techniques, trauma informed practices, building confidence and self-esteem and promoting positive relationships.
